Sports blog Term 1 reflection

Image
Date: Term 1. Total Time: 2 hours (time per match x 30 (games in Term 1) = 60 hours + 10 hours (approximate time taken on the blog) = 70 hours.  I've just wanted to reflect on my Manchester United blog posts for term 1. I have written quite a few blog posts detailing the match report but I feel I have to do better as I have missed out on many posts and I feel I haven't done anything extra for the blog either. I did watch many matches staying up all night on the weekends to do so which I felt was good but then the next day I would forget to write up the match report promptly.

Club system at school progress

Image
Date: 27/12/2021. Duration: 3 hours. Our school doesn't have after school clubs as of now and our IB class plans to introduce it starting from the next school year, April 2021. So far we have discussed the plans with our Principal and CAS coordinator and have got permission to go ahead.  We have then made a handbook for students in the present and future to use when conducting and managing their own clubs and the steps and rules that they should follow. We've created a hierarchy as well in the document, clearly stating everyone's role and positions so they know their own responsibilities.  I helped by writing part of the section.

Volunteering at the Winter camp

Image
Date: 14 December 2020 to 24th December 2020. Duration = 4 hours x 10 days = 40 hours I helped out with the Winter camp which was held from the 14th of December to the 24th of December; the camp ran between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  My job was to help the teachers organise the activities for the kids to play. In the first week, we alternated between football and badminton and in the second week we alternated between cricket and basketball.  It was a useful experience, I don't usually help out and do volunteering work but I enjoyed working with the younger kids. It taught me ways to work well with younger kids by always being kind and always be attentive.

Futsal Reflection Term 1

Image
Date: 1/9/2020-12/12/2020. Total duration: 2 hours x 2 times per week x 12 weeks = 48 hours. I'm a huge football fan and I couldn't find anyone to practice with for a few months so my friend Ahmed told me about the futsal sessions he attended near his community. I was very excited and decided to join him for a trial class and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Although it was tiring, I did feel elevated at the end of the sessions. I continued to attend futsal practice sessions twice per week on either Tuesdays or Thursdays for the past 3 months. The sessions would last 2 hours, where we would make 2 teams and play against each other in an indoor court.  I developed my footballing skills and my fitness levels through the 3 months as well as making many new friends and having a lot of fun! I won't be able to go to practices for the next term as the indoor arena is under maintenance and will be closed. I will try to compensate by going to the local park to play a game of football instea...

Term 1 Cycling Reflection

Image
Date: 1/9/20 - 12/12/20. Total duration: Approx. 40 minutes x 50 days = 2000 minutes = 33 hours 20 minutes. Cycling to school has been great. Instead of taking a car or event the bus, cycling is the best for the environment and also for my health. I've been very lazy and have gotten less exercise especially during the coronavirus which has stopped me from going out as often so cycling to school is vital to keeping me fit. Cycling to school takes nearly 20 minutes and then also 20 minutes to get back so I get 40 minutes of exercise every weekday at least. It's a 4.2-kilometre journey each way so I end up cycling 8.4 kilometres each weekday.
